Victim was dragged to the ground and kicked in body and head outside Wood End store in unprovoked assault.

Police are hunting a man wanted in connection with a violent attack on a woman outside a frozen food store in Coventry.

The 27-year-old had been shopping in Farmfoods, on Riley Square in Wood End, when she was approached by the offender at around 6.20pm on January 31.

He dragged the woman to the ground before kicking her repeatedly in the body and head, leaving her with cuts and bruises.

A security guard intervened and the attacker, described as an Asian man around 20-years-old – with short black hair and an all-black tracksuit – ran away.

DC Richard Walker, from Force CID in Coventry, said: “The victim was simply doing her shopping when she was subjected to this vicious, unprovoked attack.

“The person responsible is clearly dangerous. We need to find him and ensure he’s brought to justice.

“If you recognise the man in the CCTV images or have any information which could assist our investigation, please get in touch.”

Anyone who can help should call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
